DIN 7505 Type a Countersunk Head Chipboard Screw C1022 Yellow Zinc Plated
Contact Supplier
Product Highlights
- Countersunk head sits flush with the board face, so hinges, runners and flat-pack panels close up level - no proud heads to block cabinet doors or drawer fronts
- Case-hardened C1022 / 1022A low-carbon steel: hard case of 450 HV0.3 min. over a ductile core of 270-370 HV, so the screw cuts into particle board and MDF while still taking the driving torque.
- Reduced shank d2 below the head lowers driving resistance and sharpens the thread start - fewer cam-outs, less operator fatigue on production lines.
- Coarse single-lead thread (pitch 1.1-2.6 mm) gives high chip clearance and low splitting on particle board, MDF and fibreboard.
- Yellow zinc plating 5 um min. (electro-zinc + yellow chromate) for consistent corrosion protection; plating per GB/T 5267.1 and ASTM B633.
- Full range d2.5-6 mm, L13-180 mm in production with supply up to 200 mm; drive PZ1 / PZ2 as standard, PH, Square and Torx available on request.
- Type 17 cutting point available on request for hard wood and boards that split easily - reduces pre-drilling in edge-near positions.
- Export packing per your order: bulk carton, neutral carton without supplier branding, or buyer label and shipping marks printed to specification.

Product Description
Product Overview
Fasto chipboard screws are manufactured to DIN 7505 (A)-1986 - countersunk head, reduced shank d2, coarse single-lead thread and sharp point - cross-checked against GB/T 846-2017 with mechanical properties per GB/T 3098.5-2016. The body is made from C1022 / 1022A low-carbon carburising steel, case-hardened so a hard surface layer works over a tough core: minimum surface hardness 450 HV0.3, core hardness 270-370 HV and case depth 0.05-0.28 mm depending on size. Nominal diameters run from d 2.5 mm to d 6 mm with lengths from 13 mm to 180 mm and a supply range up to 200 mm; pitches from 1.1 mm to 2.6 mm. Standard finish is electro-zinc with yellow chromate passivation at 5 μm minimum thickness. The countersunk head sinks flush with the board face, the reduced shank below the head lowers driving resistance and sharpens the thread start, and the coarse thread clears chips quickly to keep particle board, MDF and fibreboard panels from splitting. Typical use covers cabinet and furniture assembly, board-to-board joints on flat-pack units, and kitchen, office and interior fit-out board work.

- OEM / ODM: custom sizes, head and drive types, packaging and private label for distributors and brand owners.
Standards & Installation
Dimensions follow DIN 7505 (A)-1986 and are cross-checked against GB/T 846-2017; mechanical acceptance values are taken from GB/T 3098.5-2016 and plating from GB/T 5267.1 and ASTM B633. When ordering, state the standard and the ST grade so that dimensional and torque acceptance is unambiguous - fibreboard d sizes and GB/T ST sizes are not one-to-one. For installation, drive the screw with a PZ bit matching the slot number (PZ1 for d 2.5-3, PZ2 for d 3.5-5, PZ3 for d 6) and keep the driver in line with the screw axis to avoid cam-out. Chipboard screws are designed for direct driving into particle board, MDF and fibreboard; pre-drilling is recommended for hard wood, thin panels and edge-near positions. The countersunk head should finish flush with, or slightly below, the board surface.
Quality Control & Certificates
Controlled process from wire to packing: incoming C1022 wire with mill certificate, forming, carburising heat treatment, plating, then in-house inspection before shipment. Checks cover surface hardness and core hardness, case depth, dimensional and head geometry, thread and pitch, drive fit (PZ bit engagement), plating thickness and torque. The plant operates under the ISO 9001:2015 quality system (WSF issued, CNAS/IAF accredited) with IATF 16949 applied as the internal multi-process control standard, and holds an SGS Gold Plus Supplier Assessment. Material test certificates with traceability, hardness and dimensional reports, COC and packing list can accompany each shipment.
Packaging & Delivery
Export packing is arranged to the piece count and carton weight confirmed on the order: bulk carton for distributor and OEM volume orders, neutral carton without supplier branding, buyer label with shipping marks and carton print to specification, and blister trays for retail and DIY channels. Full cartons are palletized for container loading. Free samples are dispatched within 7 days; stock sizes ship in 7-10 days and production orders in 15-30 days depending on size, length and quantity. Trial orders start from 1,000 pieces or 100 kg, and mixed-size trial orders are accepted. Price terms on request: FOB, CFR, CIF, DDP or DAP.

FAQ
- What is the difference between DIN 7505 Type A and a standard chipboard screw?
- DIN 7505 (A)-1986 specifies a countersunk head chipboard screw with a reduced shank (d2) below the head. The reduced shank is smaller than the thread diameter, which lowers driving resistance and gives a cleaner thread start in particle board and MDF. The dimensions are cross-checked against GB/T 846-2017, and the mechanical properties follow GB/T 3098.5-2016.
- Which material is used, and is the screw hardened?
- Standard material is C1022 / 1022A low-carbon carburising steel, case-hardened: minimum surface hardness 450 HV0.3 with a ductile core of 270-370 HV and a case depth of 0.05-0.28 mm depending on size. That combination lets the screw cut into board while still withstanding driving torque. Stainless steel versions can be produced on request.
- Are you a manufacturing company or trading company?
- We are a manufacturing company and have exporting experience for more than 22 years.
- What sizes can you supply, and what is the supply range?
- Nominal diameters d 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5 and 6 mm, with lengths from 13 mm to 180 mm in production and a supply range up to 200 mm. Pitches run from 1.1 mm to 2.6 mm across the range. Non-standard lengths and mixed-size trial orders are accepted.
- What is the surface treatment and how is corrosion protection specified?
- Standard finish is electro-zinc with yellow chromate passivation, 5 um minimum plating thickness on significant surfaces, tested to GB/T 5267.1 and ASTM B633. Under the standard, threads, holes, deep recesses and corners are exempt from the minimum thickness and are not evidence of unplated areas.
- Which drive and head options are available?
- Cross recess PZ is standard (slot no. 1 for d2.5-3, no. 2 for d3.5-5, no. 3 for d6). PH, Square and Torx drives are available on request, as are double countersunk and pan heads. For hard wood and boards that split easily, a Type 17 cutting point can be supplied.
- What are your MOQ, lead time and packing?
- Trial orders from 1,000 pieces or 100 kg, mixed sizes accepted. Free samples within 7 days; stock sizes dispatch in 7-10 days, production orders 15-30 days. Export packing is bulk carton, neutral carton without supplier branding, or buyer label and shipping marks printed to specification, with pieces per carton and carton weight confirmed on the order.
- Do you provide test documents, and can you produce to our own drawing?
- Each shipment can be supplied with material test certificate and traceability, hardness and dimensional reports, COC and packing list. OEM / ODM service covers custom sizes, head and drive types, point type, packaging and private label; send a drawing or size list and we will quote accordingly.
